Anchorage is a good place to live if you like winter. Livability.com rated Alaska’s largest city as America’s best to live in during the winter. The same website rated Anchorage 91st overall for livability among U.S. towns. Of course, another list by the website Areavibes rated Anchorage as ninth worst.
It is large primarily because so many people have moved here, and those that were born here. The size is limited to a certain extent by terrain. So many people think they can move here and become rich, but the reality is lots of homeless and many more on welfare, and even more on the edge, living paycheck to paycheck.
