Denali is definately worth it . Spend some time and get off the bus and do some hiking in Denali . As for Denali – the odds of seeing the mountain aren’t real high – you need to drive in about 3.5 hours before you can see it if it is out, so take an early bus in before it clouds up for the day.
Located far from any airport or large city, Denali is a wilderness park. Reaching the park can take several hours (or even most of a day), so we recommend that you plan a minimum itinerary of 2 nights in the area, which gives you one full day and part of two others.
For most of the tourist season, only a portion of the Denali Park Road – the first 15 miles – is open to public vehicles. If you want to go any farther than that, you have to take one of the park buses or, for the truly intrepid, ride a bike or walk on foot.

When is the best month to visit Alaska? You can’t go wrong visiting Alaska anytime between May 10 and September 15. The days are long, nature is in full bloom, and the air is alive with energy. But, for the absolute best time to visit Alaska, shoot for June 15 to July 15.

We do get cell service in most areas of Denali (but typically NOT inside the park ). The main providers in this area are AT & T and Verizon (through GCI). Cell service in the Front Country of Denali National Park is typically excellent. 3G service is available, but not 4G.
Denali has a large selection of HOTELS, LODGES and CABIN options both within and just outside the park entrance. If you want to stay inside the park your options are Kantishna Roadhouse, Camp Denali , and Northface Lodge. All these lodges are great for direct access to Denali National Park sights and places of interest.
