Icy Strait Point is a privately owned tourist destination just outside the small village of Hoonah , Alaska . Owned by Huna Totem Corporation, it is the only privately owned cruise destination in Alaska , as most stops are owned by the cities in which they are located.

The Icy Strait is a strait in the Alexander Archipelago in southeastern Alaska , at about 58°16′41″N 135°38′48″WCoordinates: 58°16′41″N 135°38′48″W. The strait separates Chichagof Island to the south and the Alaska mainland to the north.

Icy Strait is a great destination and its not crowded. You can also fly on a Wings of Alaska flightseeing trip over Glacier Bay from Icy Strait , so you can see it all. Glacier Bay is just your boat floating around the bay & in front of the glacier .
Why Glacier Bay , Alaska is Better Unfortunately, there is only that one active glacier where Hubbard Glacier is. The closest other glacier is not advancing and so does not calve much. Hubbard can be difficult to sail to at particular times of the Hubbard Glacier cruise season.
Icy Straight Point lies just outside Hoonah . Norwegian Cruise Line is currently building a second pier to be completed for the summer 2020 USA cruise season. The 7,000-square-foot Adventure Center is located in front of the dock’s covered trestle.
