A person to be eligible for appointment as Governor should be citizen of India and has completed age of 35 years (Article 157). The Governor shall not be a member of the Legislature or Parliament; shall not hold any office of profit, shall be entitled to emoluments and allowances.
The youngest person to ever serve as a governor in the United States was Stevens T. Mason of the Michigan Territory, elected in 1835 having just turned 24. Mason would later become the first governor of the state of Michigan when it was admitted to the Union in January 1837, when he was 25.
In the states of Alaska , Hawaii, and Utah, there is no secretary of state ; in those states many duties that a secretary of state might normally execute fall within the domain of the lieutenant governor.
