CLOSED : The dirt parking lot at the Gateway of Clear Creek Canyon Park off U.S. Hwy 6, near the intersection of Hwy 58, and Hwy 93, as well as the parking lot east of Tunnel 1 and the Oxbow area, will be closed until spring 2021 (weather dependent) for construction of the next segment of the Peaks to Plains Trail.
Clear Creek – near Georgetown-Golden-Denver. Clear Creek is probably most known as the river that runs parallel for a portion of I-70 along the front range. It’s also extremely popular as the location for the whitewater park located in Golden, Colorado .
Clear Creek now open The Chief of Police and City Manager decided to allow the order to expire so the creek is now open and fencing has been removed. Dedicated in 1998, the Clear Creek Whitewater Park is one of Golden’s most unique recreational attractions.

Getting there: From Payson, travel north on State Route 87 to Forest Road 95. It’s 9.4 miles north of Clints Well, between mile markers 299 and 300. Turn right ( east ) on FR 95 and drive 4 miles to FR 513B. Go left ( east ) and continue 2 miles to the trailhead.
