DENVER — Buckle up, Colorado ! Farmers’ Almanac has released its “Extended Forecast for Winter 2020-2021,” calling for a chilly, and possibly snowy , winter for the Centennial State.

As 2019 comes to a close, AccuWeather’s long-range forecast team predicts an active winter season is ahead for the northeastern United States. Meanwhile, ample snowfall during winter in California will help stave off drought conditions come springtime.
Depending on where you live in Colorado , winters can actually be quite mild. Overall though, winters in Colorado are not bad as there are minimal super snowy days. Otherwise, you can expect normal weather with snow, cold temperatures, beautiful winter scenery, and nothing too extreme.
“With La Nina well established and expected to persist through the upcoming 2020 winter season, we anticipate the typical, cooler, wetter North, and warmer, drier South, as the most likely outcome of winter weather that the U.S. will experience this year,” said Mike Halpert, deputy director of NOAA’s Climate Prediction
Coloradans can expect a warmer, drier, and less snowy winter than average according to a new report out on Thursday. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, or NOAA, released their annual winter outlook in collaboration with the agency’s Climate Prediction Center.

It has snowed each month of the year in Colorado, but the snow is mainly during the months of late October – late April . Snow is usually heavier and wetter (more moisture) in the spring time than winter. The mountains receive more snow and it sticks around longer than Denver/Front Range area.
Pikes Peak tends to have its own weather at any given time, and frankly, when you’re the biggest thing for miles, you can do what you want! Occasionally it will snow on the Peak in July, or be beautiful and sunny when it’s snowing in town.
U.S. Winter Weather Forecast 2020-2021 Uncommonly chilly temperatures will be limited mostly to the western states and northeastern New England. Snowfall will be greater than normal in the Northeast, Wisconsin, Upper Michigan, the High Plains, and northern Alaska and below normal in most other areas that receive snow .
November 2020 to October 2021. Winter will be colder than normal in the north and warmer in the south, with above-normal precipitation and snowfall . The coldest periods will be in mid-December and mid-January, with the snowiest periods in mid-December, early January, and early to mid-March.
COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Farmers ‘ Almanac has released their winter 2020- 2021 forecast, calling it the “ Winter of Great Divide” across the United States. Here in the Southeast, they predict a chilly and showery winter with below normal temperatures and average rainfall levels.
Snow is relatively sparse in any areas of the state below around 4,500 feet elevation, as well as in the west-central valleys of the Western Slope, and the lower Arkansas River valley. That does not mean snow -free and it doesn’t necessarily mean not cold.
