We live in Pagosa Springs half of the year. We love the breathtaking scenery, outdoor activities, friendly people, weather and small town atmosphere. Although there are not a lot of restaurants, there are some really good ones that we enjoy. There are two grocery stores, a Walmart, and charming local shops.
The temperature tends to fluctuate between 28 and 61 degrees fahrenheit, with very little snow till Spring. The beautiful thing about winter weather in Colorado Springs is the lack of humidity.

If you want things to do in the city like museums and restaurants Denver wins. If your more into the outdoors and seeing natural wonders Colorado Springs will win just depends on what you are interested in. Much depends on what you are looking for. A more urban look, or something more rural, nature, tranquility.
Colorado Springs is, IMHO, boring and conservative. Boulder is a more ritzy, exciting town (it also costs more.) I would assume a bakery would do better in Boulder because of the bigger university and wealthier clientele.
Clifton, CO – Population: 19,889 average rent: $738, annual snowfall: 12.4in. In western Colorado, near Grand Junction , lies the small community of Clifton, which receives less snow than any other place on the list.
