The Miss Michigan competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Michigan in the Miss America pageant. Michigan has won the Miss America crown on five occasions.
Since both contests began, New York has had 10 winners of the Miss America and Miss USA pageants. That’s good for third place, behind California and Texas. (On the map below, darker colors means more winners.) Several states have never had any winners: including Alaska , West Virginia, Montana, Maine and the Dakotas.
Must never have competed in any National Finals of the Miss America Organization. Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age as of July 31st in the calendar year of the state competition in which she competes.

In its FAQ, the Miss USA website states: No, contestants may not be married or pregnant. They must not have ever been married , not had a marriage annulled nor given birth to, or parented, a child. The titleholders are also required to remain single throughout their reign.

1. Vanessa Williams : The most famous Miss America ever won her crown in 1983, the first African-American to do so.
In 1991, at the age of 19, Kim became one of the youngest Miss Georgia’s in the state pageant’s history. She went on to represent her home state in the renowned Miss America pageant and thus was asked to serve as U.S. Goodwill Ambassador to Japan.
The winner will receive a $50,000 scholarship and a six-figure salary during their reign, according to Bustle.
