United Airlines (UA) offers direct flights to Tahiti from the US mainland. Flights depart from San Francisco to Papeete 3 times a week, on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Air Tahiti Nui (TN) from Los Angeles. Air tahiti Nui has flights leaving Los Angeles 6 days per week Wednesday to Monday and multiple flights per day.
The only flight that makes sense is the nonstop Hawaiian HNL to PPT flight . The only downside is that it requires you to spend the night in Papeete before continuing on to Bora Bora .

Tahiti is a safe place for tourists. Generally speaking, there are only a couple of dangers to watch out for: pickpockets in Pape’ete and moray eels in the coral reefs on scuba dives. Most visitors soon discover that Tahiti is warm and welcoming to foreigners.

There’s no question in my mind: Tahiti easily trumps Hawaii in the quest for the ultimate paradise vacation. And though you might find cheaper airfare to get you to Hawaii , my experience tells me that Tahiti is actually cheaper than Hawaii for travelers.
Aruba has clearer water and whiter sand than Hawaii ; it is also going to be warmer. Both places always have a little breeze. I prefer the Renaissance in Aruba because it is the only hotel that has a private launch to a private island which is very peaceful.
The Bahamas vs Hawaii , Round 5: Cost of Living Overall, The Bahamas is about 7% more expensive than Hawaii .
The 2 main islands are Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. Although Fiji is very beautiful, Tahiti is more spectacular especially the island of Bora Bora.
Tahiti is a more urbanized island and even though its beaches aren’t as famous as the ones in Bora Bora , it offers great shopping areas, nightlife, cultural events, and amazing outdoor activities. Bora Bora is the image that comes to mind when you think of paradise. It’s a more intimate and high-end island.
If you didn’t know, Bora Bora (island map) is located in French Polynesia and is part of an island chain called the Society Islands. The “Pearl of the Pacific” as it’s also referred to is located about 160 miles northwest of Tahiti and approximately 2,600 miles south of Hawaii .
