Hawaii reopened to U.S. travelers on Oct. 15. At this time, international travelers from CDC-prohibited countries are still banned from entering Hawaii . However, travelers coming from Japan have a pre-travel testing option via approved testing providers that went into effect on Nov.
Hawaii will finally reopen on October 15 Hawaii Governor David Ige has just announced that Hawaii will launch its pre-travel testing program as of October 15, 2020 .
Hawaii will be reopening for tourism to national and international tourists on October 15 without the need for a mandatory 14 day quarantine. Hawaii Governor David Ige confirmed the news in a new proclamation on September 23rd.
Hawaii’s parks, beaches , and trails are open for groups of no more than five (5) people. Please practice physical distancing and always wear a mask or face covering. All Hawaii county parks and beaches are open on all islands with some restrictions.
NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS – Oahu has lifted a 2nd Shelter-in-Place order, and open up most parks, hikes and beaches again. Oahu will start allowing visitors back to the island on October 15th without a mandated 14-day quarantine, if a negative COVID test result is taken within 72 hours of flight and submitted upon arrival.
Round-trip flights to Hawaii from the continental U.S. range from as low as $400 to more than $2,000, with prices varying due to time of year, airport, airline and booking service. In economy class, round-trip tickets between most U.S. cities and Honolulu cost between $500 and $800.
Since Hawaii is a state within the United States, citizens do not need a valid passport to travel to Hawaii from the mainland. However, starting on October 1, 2021, everyone will need a REAL ID for air travel , and not all states currently issue driver’s licenses that comply with these requirements.
