“ Hope County ” may be fictitious, but the mountains, rivers and wildlife that inspired Far Cry 5 are very real and based on the landscape of Southwest Montana .
Hope County is a remote and rural fictional county in the state of Montana , United States, and is the main setting of Far Cry 5, Far Cry: New Dawn, Inside Eden’s Gate and Far Cry Absolution.
In Far Cry 5 , Montana’s fictional cult uprising is led by a tenacious leader of its own – Joseph Seed. “Joseph Seed, to me, is vividly real – and much like cult leaders that I have met.
Finally, the Jonestown Massacre of the People’s Temple, lead by Jim Jones, seems to have a few direct ties to Far Cry 5 . When it comes to inspiration for the game, Ubisoft notably took the name, Eden’s Gate, and applied it to the movement lead by Joseph Seed in Far Cry 5 ; the Project at Eden’s Gate.
2018. A group of police officers attempt to arrest Project at Eden’s Gate leader Joseph Seed, after most are captured The Junior Deputy helps the locals lead a rebellion against the doomsday cult and take back Hope County. The events of Far Cry 5 take place.
Far Cry 6 will be released on February 18, 2021.
Far Cry 2
It’s infinitely more interesting and beautiful. I like FC5 but almost everything in 4 was better . The forts were more memorable, the characters were more charismatic, especially Pagan vs The Father, the premise made more sense and the story was easier to follow.
Far Cry games are usually connected to each other in some way, whether it’s a stray character or two, or the mention of events from a previous game .
Far Cry : New Dawn is one of those side stories. Like Primal and Blood Dragon before it, the open-world shooter features new characters and missions, but it reuses the map from its most immediate predecessor. It is also a smaller , more manageable experience. Ubisoft reflects that reduced scale in the price.
The sequel nature of New Dawn is now confirmed, but, Ubisoft clarifies, it’s not an official Far Cry 6 release. Ubisoft clarified Seed didn’t trigger a bomb, but correctly predicted The Collapse, which took the form of all-out nuclear war.
New Dawn uses an altered portion of Far Cry 5’s open-world Montana setting, telling a tighter, better story in the process. The post-apocalyptic trappings in New Dawn work much better as a justification for the usual Far Cry shenanigans than those in Far Cry 5 did.
