Both signal-callers have been viewed as the greatest in NFL history for the better part of a decade and have seen considerable success on the biggest stage. Brady has appeared in 9 Super Bowls, winning six, while Montana won all four in which he appeared. Just look at the past 10 Super Bowl matchups.
In my opinion, Joe Montana is the greatest quarterback to ever lace up a pair of cleats. The evidence is incontrovertible. Not only does he have the statistical prowess, but he consistently came up aces in big games, with four Super Bowl championships to boot and zero losses in the big game.
Manning may have twice as many Pro Bowls under his belt than Brady (10 to five) and was a First-Team All-Pro five times compared to Brady’s one, yet Brady has twice as many Super Bowl MVPs as Manning (two to one) and had a longer road to the top coming in as a sixth-round pick compared to Manning’s No. 1 status.
Manning is the third-best quarterback we’ve ever seen in the NFL. He’s leaving with plenty of records and a couple Super Bowl wins, but that’s not enough to put him at the top.
Tom Brady may have the titles, but Joe Montana is still the G.O.A.T. of the Super Bowl. After all, all five of the Patriots Super Bowl wins came courtesy of a Brady-led comeback late in the game.

Joe Montana’s respect for Tom Brady is in no way questioned, but he is hesitant to call the New England Patriots quarterback the GOAT . The San Fransisco 49er legend is used to the greatest of all time label being tossed around, as it was for him when he won four Super Bowls and was breaking records every season.
Montana : Never Lost In a Super Bowl Joe Montana was a perfect 4-for-4 in Super Bowl appearances in his career. He also became the only player who won the Super Bowl MVP award three times. In his four Super Bowl victories, Montana completed 83-of-122 passes for 1,142 yards with 11 touchdowns.

Russell Wilson , Seahawks (2020 preseason ranking: 3) Wilson has thrown for a combined 610 yards in the first two games, wins over the Falcons and Patriots. He has 9 TDs, a league-best 140.0 passer rating.
Quarterback Tom Brady is often referred to as the GOAT in the NFL. It’s tough to define GOAT , but Brady is always in the mix, usually at the top of the conversation. He’s certainly not the most talented guy to ever play quarterback, but he has definitely built the greatest resume in the history of the sport.
Manning holds the following major records: Most career passing yards (71,940) Most passing yards in a season (5,477) Most career passing touchdowns (539)
“He wanted to get away from the Southeastern Conference and carve his own.” Peyton Manning originally intended to play at Ole Miss before the Rebels’ recruiting violations caused them to be placed on NCAA probation. He went to Tennessee , where he became arguably the best player in school history.
Manning is considered to be one of the greatest NFL quarterbacks of all time. He was named the NFL’s most valuable player a record five times (four times with the Colts, once with the Broncos), was named to the Pro Bowl a record 14 times and named a first-team All-Pro seven times.
