CNA to LPN A CNA must pass a certification exam before she can practice, and in most states must complete continuing education courses to maintain the certification. No state requires you to be a CNA to enter an LPN program.
You must show some sort of nursing training from an accredited school in order to qualify to take the NCLEX . You take the NCLEX for LVN or LPN with a one year degree.
