February is a good time to visit New York City on a budget because the hotel prices are lower, as this is more of an off-season time in the city. The crowds are lower, and while it can still be pretty chilly, you will be warmed by the great deals on lodging. If you are flying in, there are also discounts on flights.

Bring your warmest coat, a pair of boots , comfortable walking shoes/athletic shoes and one pair of heels. Long pants (fine black wool pants with a special top or sweater will take you anywhere you wish to go at night) and silk underwear to wear under your clothes. Warm socks for those boots .
And NYC doesn’t stop for Feb weather. If you bring the proper clothing(post #3), you will get through it. February is winter, so expect cold weather. I hate the winter, but when we get February days that are sunny and seasonable, it’s tolerable.

Answer: There is no dress code for Broadway shows . Some people like to dress up and make a night of it, and some people will go in jeans . One thing to keep in mind, however, is that like movie theaters, Broadway shows can be very highly air conditioned in the summer, so bring a sweater.
Do walk quickly, with your head down To avoid looking like a tourist in NYC do not lollygag along the sidewalk, taking pictures and looking at a map because if you’re a New Yorker, you are always in a rush. So even if you have no where to go, you should still walk with purpose and move quickly along the sidewalk.
