The MTA New York City Transit (NYCT) does not allow you to buy a Metrocard online or in the mail because they lack the technology and motivation to actually bring things that riders need because they are a government body that lacks accountability.

Re: Buying a Metrocard at JFK . Buy the Metrocard when you exit the Airtrain at Jamaica Station. You get the AirTrain to Jamaica Station, pay your 5 dollars to exit, walk across the mezzanine to the elevators down to Sutphin Boulevard and get your metrocard there.
