Real ID Driver License
To help slow the spread of COVID-19, the Division of Motor Vehicles ( DMV ) is asking the public to process renewals online. At this time, the DMV is not accepting appointments for vehicle renewals. Please use one of the following methods for renewal unless a visit to the DMV is absolutely necessary.
Welcome to the Utah Driver License Online Renewal You can renew your Drivers License , State Identification or Update your Address. The online renewal service is limited to license /ID Card holders who have already verified their identity with the Driver License Division after January 1, 2010.
All renewal applicants will need to take their identity documents (see below).. These include Proof of Identity, Proof of Lawful Status in the U.S. Proof of Social Security, and Proof of Utah Residency. Photocopies are not allowed. You must pass a Vision Exam and a questionnaire about your Medical condition.
According to Utah .gov, if you license or ID card expires after Oct. 1, 2020, you will get a new one in the mail with the new gold star indicator with the same expiration date as your current license or card. The Real ID Act established minimum security standards for state-issued ID cards.
Newfangled driver’s licenses with stars are REAL ID compliant, meaning that they are more secure than what were previously issued. The law is intended to create a national standard and make sure every state has a more secure driver’s license .
A vehicle that is 3 to 6 years old has a $110 registration fee. A vehicle that is 6 to 9 years old has an $80 registration fee. A vehicle that is 9 to 12 years old has a $50 registration fee. A vehicle that is older than 12 years has a $10 registration fee.

Objective evidence that you have demonstrated an intent to establish residency in Utah , which may include any one of the following: Utah voter registration card. Utah driver’s license or identification card. Utah vehicle registration. Evidence of employment in Utah . Rental agreement showing your name and a Utah address.
