Overall, I would recommend Ruth’s Chris over Mortons. The steak at Ruth’s Chris was amazing. At Morton , my boyfriends steak was smaller than mine (we ordered the same boneless ribeye), a little burned on the outside and slightly overcooked. At Mortons, the mashed potatoes side was too small even for one person.
Because they use only “Prime grade” meat. Since less than 5% of all beef produced is eventually graded as “Prime”, it is very scarce and in high demand. Scarcity and high demand leads to high prices. For instance, “Choice grade” (one step below Prime) tenderloin costs a restaurant about $12 a pound.
Hi Davon, you could easily spend $50 to $75 per person on appetizer. Please note most items are a la carte. The Ruth’s classic Price Fixe options are truly worth it.
Sides are shareable and tasty.
No, sides are alacart. But they are very large so when you order each side it is enough for two people to share. We ordered our own salad (we did not share those). over a year ago.
We ordered our steaks and sides – baked potato, broccoli, cowboy ribeye, petit filet with blue cheese. The filet is actually good, because it kind of needs to be overseasoned, deep-fried, and then slathered in butter. The cowboy ribeye is a travesty to steak . I actually think it was briefly deep-fried.

We were actually told by a waitress at Texas Roadhouse that Longhorn’s steaks are a higher grade, which is why they are more expensive. Regardless, the food is better here. The price is high for the quality of food you receive, but it’s still better than Texas Roadhouse .
For most consumers, Morton’s is fine as it is but Capital Grille wins by a few miles ahead and for good reason. Most reviews you’ll find will point out that Capital Grille has far better service and a stronger ambiance.
