Both of these Parks offer great outdoor activities for all ages. For canyoneering and rappelling, Zion beats Bryce . You’ll find world-class hiking in either Park , but in Zion you can find yourself hiking through streams or on sandstone ledges, like Angels Landing – one of the scariest hikes in the world!
Canyonlands national park
Zion , Bryce Canyon , and Capitol Reef National Parks Are Now Open —with Limitations. In its limited operations, the park will not be operating shuttles and Scenic Drive will be closed once parking lots are full. The park will be open for day use only, and cross-country travel is not recommended.

Zion is just as beautiful, more accessible and less crowded much of the year than the Grand Canyon , where the rim walking paths and the main trails into the canyon can be packed with people during peak travel seasons. You won’t need your car much, either.

The driving distance from Bryce Canyon to Zion National Park is only about 80 miles(128km) and takes about 1:40 straight through.

While you can only drive through Zion Canyon in your own car a few months out of the year, you can always drive the Mount Carmel Highway. This 12-mile highway connects the south and east entrances of Zion National Park , and driving it is an experience in itself.

In the Bryce Amphitheater area, restrooms are available at Sunset Point (24 hrs) and the Visitor Center (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) Current Access to the Park .
